Guild of Nature Artists Exhibit
Holiday Art Show-The Guild of Nature Artists
November 23 - January 6
Our next exhibition is a Holiday Art Show by The Guild of Nature Artists, an affiliate group of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, on display November 23, 2012 through January 6, 2013. The exhibit features artwork created from sketches done at the museum as well as nature-themed work created in the artist's studio.
Please join us on Friday, November 30 from 6:30 to 7:00 pm to meet the artists at the Opening Reception in the Daniels Lounge.
The Guild of Nature Artists has been in existence for over thirty years and meets on the second and fourth Wednesday evening of each month to draw from the museum’s collections. Some of the favorite sources of inspiration are the bird displays featuring song birds, owls, raptures, and waterfowl. Members also like to draw from the exhibits of dinosaur skeletons, reptiles, sea life, Native American artifacts, as well as the small and large mammals.
The work presented in this show features artwork created from sketches done at the museum as well as nature-themed work created in the artist’s studio.
Many of their members are professional artists with backgrounds ranging from painting and printmaking to interior design, graphic design and illustration, textiles, and ceramics. Despite a wide range of styles we are brought together by our desire to draw and a common love for the animals and forms found in nature.
