Intro to Celtic & Scottish Fiddling

Saturday, Oct. 4

Celtic and Scottish Fiddling SquareLed by Beck Center's own award-winning fiddle player, Bruce Erwin, this interactive workshop covers Celtic and Scottish folk fiddling techniques and styles, with an emphasis on bowing, rhythm, melodies, repertoire, and standard performance. Students are encouraged to audio record this workshop for personal study following the workshop. Course #3054


Bass is the Place: Electric & Upright Bass

Saturday, Nov. 1

Bass is the Place SquareJoin Beck Center's Associate of Music Education, Matthew Charboneau, as he leads an interactive workshop covering many popular styles of bass playing. Mr. Charboneau has been a professional bassist for over 20 years. Emphasis will be on techniques needed to play multiple styles of music, as well as approach and repertoire of popular music bass playing. Both upright and electric bassists are welcome. Duo Improvisation with Strawberry Sunday

Saturday, Dec. 6

Strawberry Sunday SquareThe highly-creative flute/cello duo, Strawberry Sunday, specialize in alternative pop, improvisatory jams, and classical music. Join Kimberly Zaleski (flute) and Trevor Kazarian (cello) as they discuss their approach to improvising in the duo format and incorporating many diverse styles of music into their performances. Emphasis is on interactive playing for attendees. Course #3067.
