Women of Creativity: Four Artists, Four Perspectives

January 9 - February 8, 2015 | Jean Bulicek Galleria | Main Building
LisaAtensTigerFour artists with four very different creative visions will display their work in the first exhibition of 2015. This collective is a group of friends and professional colleagues whose work demonstrates that although people may have much in common, their artistic visions may be very diverse!

Lisa Aten, Jennifer Fitchwell, Terry Flores, and Val Lesiak explore their themes in a variety of media, including  painting, drawing, paper mâché, mosaic and textile art, sculpture and installations. "We have known each other for years, but this is the first time we've exhibited together," said Aten. "Being in the same gallery space you will really see how we approach art in completely different ways."

Included in the exhibition are a series of landscape paintings, a collection of whimsical text-based watercolor and acrylic images, a shrine to the failed marriage of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, and a colorful, large-scale-needle-felt works.
