Red Stage Summer Music Series

June 24, 2015 6:30PM  to  September 30, 2015 8:30PM

Beck Center's Red Stage | All concerts will take place on the last Wednesdays of June through September from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

An additional concert will take place on Friday, July 10 from 6:15 – 7:40 p.m. before the opening of Green Day’s American Idiot.


Enjoy live, local music this summer as Beck Center presents the Red Stage Summer Series, our new, free and open to the public concerts. Aimed to engage local artists and the community, these concerts will also feature students from Beck Center’s Department of Music Education. While the music plays, interactive arts experiences will be available, as well as refreshments on sale (cash only).



Jackie Warren Trio

  • The series will kick-off with the Jackie Warren Trio, a fixture of the Cleveland Jazz scene. Known as both Cleveland’s First Lady of Jazz and the Salsa Queen, Jackie Warren is one of the most in-demand pianists in the area. With a mastery of merengue and salsa, this jazzy trio sets the bar for the Red Stage this summer. (Rain Location: Studio Theater)


Doug McKean

  • Coinciding with the opening night of Green Day’s American Idiot, Doug McKean of The Boys from the County Hell (a Pogue’s tribute band) will set the mood for the evening with a set of Punk Rock jams. (Rain Location: Main Building)



Thor Platter Band

  • Thor Platter will return to Beck Center after leading a Bluegrass and Americana music workshop this past spring. Influenced by Woody Guthrie and Neil Young, the Thor Platter Band is an American Roots Rock group. Their evocative blues guitar melodies contain a gritty soul that is not to be missed. Hillbilly IDOL

  • Hillbilly IDOL will take to the Red Stage with a catchy and exciting roots repertoire. Their new yet familiar sound is an original hybrid of styles they call "Town and Country Music". Hillbilly IDOL looks forward to playing a simultaneously acoustic and electrifying set that is most importantly fun to listen to. (Rain Location: Main Building Art Gallery)


Moustache Yourself

  • This outdoor series will conclude with Moustache Yourself. True to the style of Gypsy Jazz, the members of this band all bear mustaches and aim to create a groovy, moody, and swingin’ style. Their infectious rhythm and harmonies will be the perfect way to end this wonderful string of concerts. (Rain Location: Mackey Main Stage)
