About Sleeping Beauty:
Specially choreographed for children, this condensed version of Sleeping Beauty is a romantic fairy tale that tells the story of the beautiful princess Aurora. Cursed at birth by a wicked fairy, Princess Aurora will sleep for 100 years unless she is awakened by true love's kiss. The ballet concludes with a wedding celebration visited by favorite fairy tale characters.

Princess Aurora will be danced by Kara Madden, a dancer with Verb Ballets in Cleveland and contemporary dance instructor at Beck Center. Prince Desiré will be danced by Jason Wang. Jason has danced with the Cincinnati Ballet and Louisville Ballet, and currently teaches boys' dance and hip hop at Beck Center. Kara and Jason will be joined onstage by members of the Beck Center Dance Workshop and select dance education students.

With original choreography by Marius Petipa, additional choreography is by Melanie Szucs, associate director of dance education and artistic director of the Dance Workshop at the Beck Center.
