Education Outreach
The Education Outreach Department at the Beck Center provides curriculum-integrated quality hands-on arts instruction to students of all abilities, enabling students and teachers to acquire new methods of expression, understanding, creative thought, and aesthetic awareness in a globally interdependent world.

Beck Center for the Arts is committed to providing comprehensive arts education programs designed to challenge the minds of students and stimulate creativity. Our Education Outreach Program offers a wide variety of arts education activities, featuring more than 80 artists, including assemblies, field trips, workshops, teacher inservices, and on-site performances for schools, social service agencies, libraries, and other community organizations. These activities provide students of all ages and abilities with quality participatory arts instruction.Arts at Beck Center (ABC)
Arts at Beck Center (ABC) is a unique field trip that consists of up to five classes. The Beck Center offers professional instruction by qualified teachers in the areas of dance, music, theater, and visual arts. In each class, students actively participate in various art forms. The ABC field trip is an educational experience where students ARE the artists.The ABC experience is designed for any age student but the variety of offerings differs to ensure that the programs are age-appropriate. All of the classes can be adjusted to meet the needs of the ages that are
participating.Elementary and High School classes:

In addition to offering a unique arts experience for students, the ABC program also helps schools meet many of the state mandated Academic Content Standards in English/Language Arts, Mathematics,
Science, and Social Studies.Pre-Motivators
To prepare for their ABC experience, teachers receive an information packet containing:
A schedule for the day of the field trip Goals and objectives of ABC Information about what the students will experience A vocabulary list of words and phrases Word games using these vocabulary words for the students A map with driving directions to Beck CenterFollow-Up
Teachers receive a list of suggested follow-up activities, as well as evaluation forms for use when they return to the classroom. The evaluation forms are used in developing and improving future ABC
programs. They include questions regarding the artist/instructor, the content of the class, the organization of the program, and the general experience of the participant.
